3 Stretches To Improve Your Posture with Pilates Strong Studio

Wanting to improve your posture in 2021? Look no further! Nancy from @pilatesstrongstudio shows us 3 easy-to-do stretches you can do at home to straighten your back and strengthen those muscles.

1. Get in a table top position on your knees and hands. Slowly extend one arm with the opposite leg, while focusing on your breathing. Keep your spine straight (don’t overarch) and head down. Exhale and return back to the tabletop. Repeat with the opposite arm and leg.
2. Lay on your side with the bottom leg bent. Slowly lift your hips off the ground while maintaining balance on your knee and elbow. Extend your leg and arm to help balance. Repeat on the other side.
3. Sit with one leg bent toward you and the other bent back. Extend one arm on the ground behind the knee while stretching the opposite arm over the head, by the ear. Take a deep breath. Repeat on the other side.
Perform these stretches at your leisure to relax your back, stretch and lengthen your muscles as well as straighten your posture. You’ll look great and feel great, too. Pilates is a user-friendly way to get some exercise while toning your muscles in a low-intensity way.
